The mind is the door through which I enter the world of positive
change. That’s why the Bible says, “Be transformed by the renewing of
your mind.” In order to have a new life, I need a new way of thinking.
I can change who I am by changing what I put into my mind. When I
change my mind, I change my life. This law of change never fails.
Although the wheel of change turns slowly, it always turns in the
direction of what I put into my mind. I fill my mind with positive
thoughts so that my life moves in a positive direction.
Everything I put into my mind is important, because it changes who I
am. When I put in good things, my life improves. When I put in bad
things, my life becomes worse. There are no exceptions to this law.
Positive transformation isn’t an accident; it’s something I do on
purpose. I become a positive person by putting positive things into my
mind.

The world tells me that image is everything, and if I want to change my
life, I first need to change my image. Their recipe for change
says I need to change my wardrobe, toothpaste, hairstyle, hair color,
and wear contact lenses. And while I'm at it, I should make Botox and a
blepharoplasty a permanent part of my life. A trip to the tanning
salon would also be a big plus. And if I was a female, then some
augmentation here and a little tucking there would definitely be in
order. And don't forget a face lift that would put a permanent
smile on my face. The menu of possible changes is as big as my
checkbook.
Fortunately, I escaped from the image machine completely unscathed
with my wallet intact.
For too many years, I looked for change in all the wrong places.
That's why I had such a hard time making positive change happen.
When I finally figured out that change first happens in my mind, a river
of positive change started flowing through my life.
I can trace all of the major
positive events of my life to a change that first happened in my
mind. When I changed the way I thought about anything, my life
instantly changed as well.
One day I decided that I would sail around the world on a yacht, and
from that day forward, I ran my mind in a different way. I was a
changed person. I immediately started searching for a modest
sailboat that could take a family of four safely around the world.
One day I decided that I would
purchase a Land Rover Defender so I could live my sand dreams in the
Empty Quarter of Saudi Arabia. In my mind I went from sailing the
seven seas to land cruising on a sea of sand.
One day I decided that I would write a book of positive self-talk, and
that I would illustrate the book with Power Graphics. That book is
called Maximum Strength Positive Thinking, and it has over
100 Power Graphics that push my mind in a positive direction.
One day I decided I would create a
Positive Web Ring - a series of web sites that would make a
positive difference in the lives of millions of people. For a few
thousand dollars a year, I could reach my arms around the world and have
a positive impact in over one-hundred different countries.
One day I decided to live as if my dreams were possible and work each
day to make them happen. I decided to act as if I cannot fail.
Changing the way I think has made my dreams come true, and it can do the
same for you.
Change first happens in your mind, and whatever you are or ever will be
is first found in your mind. In order to have a new life, you need
a new way of thinking. That is where everything starts. You
can change who you are by changing what you put into your mind.
